Steel Boards

In the production of melamine-faced boards, textured steel plates, also known as pressing steel plates or steel press plates, play a crucial role in both the functional and aesthetic outcome of the final product. These high-precision steel plates are used during the short-cycle hot pressing process, where melamine-impregnated paper is bonded to wood-based substrates such as particleboard (PB/Chipboard), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), or plywood. Textured steel plates serve two primary functions:

Surface Texture Transfer:

The steel plates are etched, engraved, or chemically textured with woodgrain patterns, stone finishes, fabric textures, or matte/gloss effects. When the hot press is activated, the texture is transferred directly onto the melamine paper, giving the surface a realistic, tactile finish that mimics natural materials.

Surface Protection and Heat Distribution:

Steel plates provide uniform pressure and heat distribution during pressing. This ensures consistent curing of the melamine resin across the surface, leading to high durability, scratch resistance, and resistance to heat and stains.
